Towards a Capture and Reuse Model for Aquaculture Effluent as a Hydroponic Nutrient Solution Using Aerobic Microbial Reactors

چکیده

Controlled environment agriculture (CEA) technologies are required to meet current and future food production demand as the global population rises, arable land decreases, minerals for fertilizer depleted. Hydroponics recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) intensive methods that can provide season-independent vegetables seafood in urban settings but limited by a reliance on fertilizing solutions made from finite mineral reserves treatment disposal costs of nutrient rich effluent, respectively. The development capture reuse system where RAS effluent is solubilized become plant-available utilized hydroponic solution would aid both industries increase security deserts. Aerobic mineralization used domestic wastewater reduce solid content solubilize particulate-bound nutrients. Preliminary studies have also shown aerobic be an effective method treatment. batch reactors were mineralize this study. Suspended solids reduction achieved was measured throughout experiment plant-availability twelve nutrients determined before after It effectively plant utilization effluent.

Membrane Biological Reactors (MBR) and Their Applications for Water Reuse

The term 'membrane bioreactor' expresses a combination of activated sludge and membrane separation processes. The need to processes like sedimentation and disinfection used in common methods is eliminated through MBR systems in a way that membranes are placed into or out of an aeration tank and the vacuumed wastewater created by the suction pump is pulled up from inside the membranes and leaves...

Membrane Biological Reactors (MBR) and Their Applications for Water Reuse

Know days, pollution made by the wastewater in rivers and other water body’s is one of the main concerns of environmental engineers. Membrane bioreactors are one of the earliest methods for treating swage and also to produce water that is acceptable for reuse purposes. The term membrane bioreactor expresses a combination of activated sludge and membrane separation processes. The need to process...

Hydroponic Production of Purslane as a Sodium-removing Vegetable in NaCl-rich Nutrient Solution

To evaluate the potential of producing purslane (Portulaca oleracea L.) as a sodium (Na)-removing vegetable hydroponically at moderate NaCl salinity, two cultivars (Green and Golden) were grown in solutions with added 0, 6, 8, and 10 mM NaCl (the actual Na concentrations ’2, 8, 10, and 12 mM, respectively). At harvest, 26 days after transplanting, apparent growth and biomass accumulation were n...
